Overview

The Community Engagement Lead will serve as the public face of our company — bridging our field teams, customers, and community partners to strengthen our brand presence, promote trust, and build engagement. This role blends marketing, public relations, and community relations with hands-on participation at job sites, events, and partner locations.

We’re seeking someone energetic, personable, and proactive who can create engaging content, manage social and digital channels, represent us at community events, and support day-to-day communication efforts that elevate our brand and mission.

Key Responsibilities

Community Engagement & Outreach

• Represent the company at community events, fairs, and trade shows.
• Build and maintain relationships with local organizations, veteran networks, schools, and corporate partners.
• Coordinate volunteer and sponsorship activities that align with company values and community goals.
• Visit active construction and service job sites to capture stories, photos, and employee highlights for internal and external use.
• Conduct background research on community figures, clients, and employees to inform outreach and marketing initiatives.

Social Media & Content Marketing

• Plan, create, and publish content across social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.).
• Develop engaging campaigns to showcase projects, people, and community involvement.
• Write blogs, social posts, and short-form videos highlighting company milestones, veteran initiatives, and local partnerships.
• Manage community engagement metrics and report on social performance trends.

Brand & Communications

• Act as a brand ambassador — ensuring consistent tone, imagery, and messaging in all public-facing communications.
• Collaborate with internal teams (field, office, leadership) to identify storytelling opportunities.
• Elevate employee recognition, customer testimonials, and local goodwill stories.

Support Functions

• Assist with website updates (WordPress or similar CMS) for company and portfolio sites.
• Occasionally answer incoming calls and help direct customers or community inquiries as part of a shared team support rotation.
• Provide administrative support to the marketing and operations team when needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience: 2–4 years in community relations, marketing, communications, or related roles (construction, skilled trades, or service industries preferred).
• Technical Skills: Digital expertise. Proficiency in social media management tools, Canva/Adobe Suite, and WordPress. Familiarity with AI tools.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and writing ability.
• Other: Willingness to travel locally to job sites and community events (some evening/weekend work).

Bonus Skills

• Photography, video editing, or drone footage experience.
• Familiarity with SEO, local advertising, or grassroots campaigns.
• Comfort interacting with tradespeople, veterans, and community leaders alike.
