About the Role:

The Department Manager will lead and oversee all operational activities within the designated department located in Huntersville, NC. This role is pivotal in ensuring efficient workflow, maintaining high-quality standards, and meeting production targets while adhering to safety and compliance regulations. The manager will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to optimize processes, manage resources effectively, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. They will also be responsible for developing and mentoring team members to foster a productive and motivated workforce. Ultimately, this position aims to deliver consistent operational excellence that supports the company’s strategic goals and customer satisfaction.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Manufacturing Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
• Strong knowledge of production processes and quality control standards in manufacturing.
• Proven ability to lead teams and manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance requirements relevant to manufacturing operations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience specifically in postal or logistics operations within a manufacturing setting.
• Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma certification.
• Advanced proficiency with manufacturing software and data analysis tools.
• Demonstrated success in driving process improvements and cost reduction initiatives.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster collaboration across departments.

Responsibilities:

• Manage daily operations of the department to ensure production goals and quality standards are met.
• Coordinate with supply chain, quality assurance, and maintenance teams to streamline processes and resolve operational issues promptly.
• Lead, train, and develop department staff to enhance skills, performance, and engagement.
• Implement and monitor compliance with safety protocols and company policies to maintain a safe working environment.
• Analyze performance metrics and prepare reports for senior management to inform decision-making and continuous improvement efforts.
