What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Operator position at SIEGFRIED USA LLC?
This position supports overall the assigned production shift. Duties include routine production operator responsibilities (separate job description) plus operator coaching, training and process troubleshooting. Acts as secondary representative during shifts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Demonstrates advanced competency in the operation of all production equipment and advanced understanding of chemical processes.
- Carries out efficient manufacturing operations in own areas of expertise.
- Implements and adheres to all applicable SHE and cGMP regulations.
- Coordinates and oversees the assignment, training, development, and motivation of employees to ensure coaching facilitates the attainment of goals.
- Lead problem solving and/or trouble-shooting activities as needed to ensure continuing operations.
- Assists area management in reviewing production schedules, metrics, and investigates variances as appropriate.
- Assist area management in supporting the Siegfried Quality System, including management of manufacturing deviations, and changes to equipment, processes and documents.
- Maintains issued inventory and consumptions of raw materials for current batches.
- Coordinates with maintenance to ensure safe and effective execution of maintenance activities in assigned are(s) (i.e., safe work / hot work permits, lockout/tagout, and confined space entry)
- Ensures that the personal and departmental moral, ethical, legal, and behavioral conduct is in compliance with the Siegfried Code of Conduct
- Manages proper disposal of waste, good housekeeping and cleanliness of the production area.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- A two-year (2) associates degree in life or physical sciences, engineering, or equivalent technical field, or equivalent related experience within pharmaceutical or a fine chemical manufacturing.
- Must be able to read and write legibly in English and perform mathematical calculations such as yield and scale-down batch ratios.
- Prior pharmaceutical manufacturing experience or batch chemical experience required. Or candidate must have 5-7 years prior experience in light industrial setting, prior pharmaceutical manufacturing experience or batch chemical experience would be preferred.
- Strong knowledge of cGMP regulations for active pharmaceutical ingredients required.
- Must be able to work in a chemical manufacturing plant environment.
- Must be able to lift minimum of 50 lbs.
- Must be able to obtain respirator clearance.
- Must be clean shaven to wear a tight-fitting respirator.
- Must have ability to coach, motivate, influence and develop others.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be able to learn and operate computer-controlled equipment.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to work overtime as needed
- Shift schedule 6pm – 6:30am
