Prep Pastry Cook

Piero’s Italian Cuisine is seeking a skilled and dependable Prep Pastry Cook to join our culinary team! We are looking for someone who has a passion for baking, takes pride in creating beautiful desserts, and enjoys working in a professional, high-quality kitchen environment.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in cake baking and pastry preparation, with the ability to consistently produce delicious, beautifully presented desserts that meet our fine dining standards.

What You'll Do

• Prepare and bake our signature tiered cakes, including Chocolate, Carrot, and Red Velvet, ensuring consistent quality, flavor, texture, and presentation.

• Prepare classic desserts such as Tiramisu, Crème Brûlée, and Rice Pudding following established recipes and standards.

• Measure, mix, bake, assemble, frost, and finish cakes with attention to detail.

• Maintain consistent dessert production to meet daily restaurant needs.

• Follow recipes, portion guidelines, and presentation standards.

• Properly store, label, and rotate ingredients and finished products.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary pastry preparation area.

• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and kitchen procedures.

• Work collaboratively with the culinary team to ensure desserts are prepared and ready for service.

What We're Looking For

• Previous professional cake baking experience is required, including preparing, assembling, and frosting layered or tiered cakes.

• Prior experience in pastry preparation, preferably in a restaurant, bakery, or similar professional kitchen.

• Basic pastry knowledge and experience preparing desserts such as tiramisu, crème brûlée, and puddings.

• Ability to follow recipes accurately and produce consistent results.

• Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management.

• Ability to work independently and manage daily production responsibilities.

• Knowledge of proper food handling and kitchen sanitation practices.

• Dependable, punctual, and comfortable working in a fast-paced culinary environment.

Schedule

This is a five-day-per-week position with a consistent 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM schedule.
