Role Overview
The Data Center Technician L2 will support operations in a GPU-dense, high-performance computing environment. The role requires strong hands-on experience with rack/stack, structured cabling, server installation, hardware moves, adds & changes, troubleshooting, and data center safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform rack & stack installation of servers, networking, storage, and GPU equipment.
- Install and manage fiber and copper structured cabling.
- Install rails, mount equipment, label assets, and maintain proper airflow and cable management.
- Connect and verify power and network cabling.
- Perform hardware Moves, Adds & Changes (MACs).
- Conduct hardware validation, LED/port checks, and basic troubleshooting.
- Maintain accurate asset tracking, labeling, and technical documentation.
- Read and follow rack elevation diagrams, deployment instructions, and technical documentation.
- Work with data center engineering and networking teams during deployments.
- Follow strict ESD, safety, and security protocols.
- Support hardware decommissioning and removal activities.
- 3 years of hands-on data center experience
- Strong rack & stack experience
- Structured cabling Fiber & Copper
- PDU / Power Distribution knowledge
- Server installation Dell, HPE, Supermicro, or equivalent
- Ability to read rack diagrams/elevation drawings
- Hardware validation and troubleshooting
- Asset tracking and documentation
- Strong safety awareness and ESD procedures
- Hyperscale data center experience
- GPU-dense data center experience
- High-Performance Computing (HPC) knowledge
- Basic Linux knowledge
- Large-scale hardware refresh/migration experience
