Program Management and Scheduling
- Oversee the Health and Physical Education Departments within the district, including alignment to state curriculum.
- Oversee the daily operations and logistics of the athletic department, including game scheduling, team travel, and event coordination, and other
- Coordinate with league officials and other schools regarding schedules, referees, and other operational requirements.
- Attend district, league and sectional meetings as well as professional development opportunities.
- Recruit, train, and mentor teachers, coaches, and athletic staff at all levels to ensure quality instruction and positive student experiences.
- Provide support for teachers and coaches certifications and professional development as required by the district or state.
- Evaluate teachers, coaches, and athletic staff.
- Oversee game supervision and operations.
- Promote student and athlete health and safety through compliance with safety protocols, injury prevention measures, and mental health support.
- Address student and athlete issues, including academic eligibility, discipline, and college recruitment assistance.
- Create opportunities in conjunction with school counselors for students and families to enrich their athletic and community experiences.
- Ensure athletic and physical education facilities are well-maintained, safe, and suitable for classes, practices and competitions.
- Oversee the procurement, inventory, and maintenance of athletic equipment and uniforms as well as the overall budget of the athletic department.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for parents, athletes, and coaches, addressing concerns and promoting the athletic program.
- Develop marketing and branding, communication, and outreach efforts to enhance school spirit and community support for athletics.
- Develop a system to maintain and use all technology associated with physical education and athletic facilities.
- Enforce policies and regulations related to physical education, and athletics, ensuring compliance with district, Mid-State Athletic Conference, Section IV, and NYSPHSAA, and NYSED guidelines.
- Monitor student eligibility requirements and support programs to maintain student and athlete academic success.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Superintendent or designee.
