What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shift Lead position at Sidewalk Steak?
Ever experienced the energy of a Taiwan Night Market? The sound of the sizzle, the aroma of signature sauces, and the fast-paced hustle? That’s Sidewalk Steak. We are a brand-new concept bringing authentic Taiwanese-style hot-plate steaks to the new Asia Village at Northtown Mall in Blaine and we’re looking for powerhouse Shift Leads to help us build this from the ground up.
The Role
As a Shift Lead, you aren't just "watching the floor"—you are the conductor of the sizzle. You’ll lead a small, tight-knit crew of 5 to ensure every plate comes out piping hot and every guest leaves happy.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead the Rush: Manage the flow of orders during peak mall hours, ensuring speed and quality.
- Master the Sizzle: Oversee the safety and presentation of our signature hot-plate service.
- Coach the Crew: Train team members on our authentic Taiwanese appetizers and signature sauces.
- Own the Shop: Handle opening/closing procedures, cash management, and inventory checks.
- Ensure Safety: Since we play with fire (and hot plates!), you’ll be the champion of kitchen safety and sanitation.
Who You Are
- Experienced: You have at least 1–2 years of experience in a fast-paced kitchen or QSR environment (Shift Lead or Lead Line Cook experience is a huge plus).
- A Natural Leader: You lead by example—you aren't afraid to jump on the grill or the register when the team needs you.
- Calm Under Pressure: You can handle a busy Saturday at Northtown Mall with a smile.
- Foodie at Heart: You have an appreciation for Asian street food culture and high standards for flavor.

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
