Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our small but fun team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in both leading a fast paced kitchen and coordinating a very busy catering operation. . As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality and presentation, and maybe most importantly you will need to be highly organized to produce catering for on-premise parties of 20 to 400.
Duties
- Lead and manage all aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation.
- Either execute our current menu to the highest standard or create a new new (small) menu that the entire kitchen can be passionate about.
- Oversee inventory control, ensuring that all food supplies are ordered, received, and stored properly.
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing training and guidance to ensure adherence to recipes and cooking techniques.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene and safety in the kitchen at all times.
- Coordinate with event management to execute buffet style catering menu.
- Monitor food quality and presentation to ensure consistency with restaurant standards.
- Manage shift schedules and ensure adequate staffing levels during peak service times.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a similar role within the restaurant or food service industry.
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, menu planning, and inventory management.
- Experience in supervising kitchen staff and managing shift operations effectively.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on hospitality and customer satisfaction.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- A passion for culinary arts with an understanding of current food trends.
- Experience in busy event venue executing large catering menu.
