Assistant Manager - Swivel Soft Serve

About Swivel

Swivel is a soft serve ice cream trailer parked on the trail near Austin Rowing Club. We're a small, growing operation, and we're looking for an assistant manager we can trust to run the day-to-day of our trailer.

The Role

This is a hands-on position. You'll serve customers alongside the team, open the business, close it down at the end of the night, and keep day-to-day operations on track. You'll work directly with the owners and be trusted with keys to the trailer and our landlord’s building.

What You'll Do

• Build the weekly staff schedule: set shifts, cover call-outs, and make sure the trailer is never short-handed
• Open and close the trailer: set up equipment and product for service, run closing procedures, and secure the trailer at night
• Keyholder: open on time and lock up properly
• Coordinate deliveries with the owner: track inventory, flag what's running low, and receive deliveries of product and supplies
• Lead the crew during service: keep ops moving, product quality consistent, and the team positive during rushes and downtime
• Ensure cleanliness: maintain food safety and sanitation standards and keep equipment in good working order

What We're Looking For

• Prior food service experience required; shift lead, keyholder, or management experience strongly preferred
• Reliable and trustworthy; you'll be responsible for opening on time, closing promptly, and POS handling
• Comfortable making a schedule and communicating clearly with a small team
• Able to work evenings, weekends, and peak season hours
• Food handler's certification
• Able to stand for full shifts and lift up to 40 lbs (supply deliveries, mix boxes)

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
