Key Responsibilities:
- Convert an existing restaurant equipment Android application into a generic, standardized template.
- Apply the standardized template to new restaurant equipment projects.
- Lead end-to-end app development, debugging, and the Alpha prototype field trial roll-out.
- Design, deploy, and support all aspects of Android application development independently.
- Integrate remote database logging and configuration management tools (Datadog, Firebase/Firestore).
- Apply UI/UX best practices to ensure a smooth, user-friendly experience.
- Collaborate closely with Automation Lab team members and stakeholders.
- Potential travel (up to 50-75%) to Plano, TX during critical debugging phases if working remotely.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5–10 years of experience in Kotlin for Android application development.
- Proven track record designing, deploying, and supporting full lifecycle Android applications.
- Hands-on experience with remote database logging and configuration management tools such as Datadog and Firebase/Firestore.
- Strong UI/UX design experience—ability to create intuitive and engaging interfaces.
- Ability to work independently with minimal oversight and deliver high-quality solutions quickly.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment focused on innovation and prototyping.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with MQTT protocol for lightweight messaging.
- Familiarity with Industrial Automation or Automated Equipment.
- Knowledge of PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers) and ladder logic systems.
