Job Responsibilities and Duties:
At Sibanye-Stillwater, the Procurement Specialist is responsible for purchasing goods and services according to departmental and organizational policies and procedures.
The Procurement Specialist's primary duties are:
- Foster an inclusive environment for all employees that promotes teamwork, innovation, and actively seeks feedback from the workforce for continuous maintenance improvements.
- Communicate and support area goals and initiatives to work groups within the Company.
- Promote and maintain a safe work environment, safe work practices, and a strong safety culture.
- Ensures compliance with all related laws and regulations.
- Collecting and communicating accurate information in a timely manner.
- May be asked to help with training peers.
- Evaluates vendors based on price, reliability, capability, and previous transaction history.
- Works with vendors to negotiate volume and cash transaction discounts, and other available discounts.
- Develops vendor relationships.
- Analyses and evaluates supplier performance.
- Create purchase orders and tally these with supply requests and orders.
- Purchases goods and services according to the company's policies and procedures.
- Coordinates with managers to maintain inventory levels.
- Ensures that purchasing documents are complete and accurate and include appropriate and reasonable
- Maintains pricing histories and other vendor records.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in related field highly preferred.
- Exposure to warehousing or purchasing experience preferred.
