Inventory Specialist

This position is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, supporting refining shipments, coordinating inventory transactions, and ensuring compliance with established inventory control procedures. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced industrial manufacturing environment.
Job Purpose
The Inventory Specialist supports inventory accuracy and material accountability by maintaining records, preparing shipment documentation, coordinating inventory transactions, and assisting with inventory control activities throughout the facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain inventory records and support inventory control activities within the Vault Area and finished inventory storage locations
- Perform cycle counts and physical inventories to ensure inventory accuracy and material accountability
- Create DVs for sweeps, melts, coarse material, slag shipments, and related inventory transactions
- Prepare and process blends, remelts, preblends, and premelts for shipment to refiners
- Create internal and solutions pick lists
- Pull and prepare materials for shipment in accordance with established procedures
- Reconcile premelts and preblends against expected inventory assays and inventory records
- Review refiner terms and support shipment planning activities
- Provide estimated metal content and shipment value information for shipping documentation
- Coordinate shipment preparation activities with the Logistics Manager
- Maintain accurate inventory documentation, transaction records, and supporting reports
- Assist with inventory investigations, reconciliations, and discrepancy resolution
- Support compliance with inventory control procedures, environmental requirements, and safety standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred
- Four or more years of inventory control, materials management, warehouse operations, or related manufacturing experience
- Experience with shipping and receiving operations in an industrial or manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of shipping documentation, inventory transactions, and logistics processes
- Familiarity with UPS, FedEx, and related shipping systems
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and inventory/database systems
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
- Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments
Compliance and Physical Requirements
- Must meet ITAR and NAID requirements
- Ability to pass a background check, drug screening, and medical clearance
- Ability to work onsite in an industrial manufacturing environment
- Ability to wear required PPE and comply with all safety requirements
- Ability to interact with and handle hazardous materials in accordance with RCRA and facility requirements
- Participation in required environmental, health, and safety training programs
