General Description
E&I Maintenance Technicians are responsible for the proper operation and maintenance of all equipment in their areas of responsibility. They will make recommendations to the Maintenance Team or any corrective measures that will result in greater efficiency, quality and economy of operations. During capital projects, they may be called on for consultation, inspection or to assist in the selection and installation of new equipment.
Duties / Responsibilities: Carry out new installations, repairs, preventative maintenance, calibration, testing, certification, documentation, and housekeeping of the work area. The E&I Maintenance Technician is expected to follow Safe Work Permits instructions and fill in information required on the SWP concurrent with performing the specified operations. The E&I Maintenance Technician is expected to keep his/her Foreman informed of the status of work. He/she is to inform the Foreman promptly of problems or unusual circumstances encountered during the work, and of completion of the work. The E&I Maintenance Technician must also promptly inform the Foreman of conditions that prevent performance of the work as described on the work order or which cause substantial change in the work scope
Experience / Skills: Two-year technical degree in Electronics/Instrumentation with 3 years practical experience or commensurate practical experience with high school diploma or GED. Maximum entry rate is $23.13 - $34.05 p/hr. However, the actual rate will be based on the position title obtained as validated from skills, competencies and specific requirements possessed.
