Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Product Packaging Designer to join our creative team! Duties
- Conceptualize and develop original packaging designs using sketching, digital modeling, and 3D rendering tools such as SketchUp, Rhino 3D, and Maya.
- Collaborate with product development teams to translate product specifications into effective packaging solutions that protect and showcase products.
- Create detailed technical drawings and CAD models using AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, Creo, or similar software to communicate design intent clearly for manufacturing.
- Utilize Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, KeyShot) for visualizations, presentations, and refining packaging aesthetics.
- Conduct design research to identify innovative materials, fabrication techniques, and sustainable options that align with manufacturing capabilities.
- Engage in design thinking processes to iterate concepts based on user feedback, market trends, and technical constraints.
- Prepare comprehensive documentation for fabrication and production processes while ensuring designs meet mechanical and structural requirements.
- Work closely with fabrication teams to oversee prototype development and refine designs for mass production.
- Stay informed about emerging trends in digital design, furniture design principles, mechanical knowledge, and packaging innovations to continuously elevate design quality.
Experience
- Proven experience in graphic design with a strong portfolio showcasing packaging or product development projects.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as SketchUp, AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks or Creo is essential; familiarity with Rhinoceros 3D and Maya is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability in digital design tools including Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe Creative Suite (including KeyShot), and other rendering software.
- Strong understanding of mechanical design principles related to packaging fabrication and manufacturing processes.
- Experience working on product development projects from concept through prototyping to production.
- Knowledge of materials science related to packaging materials and sustainable practices is highly desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a keen eye for detail and aesthetics; ability to think creatively within technical constraints.
- Background in furniture design or mechanical knowledge can be advantageous for innovative structural solutions.
