Position Overview

The Merchandising and Marketing Specialist II supports our Fabric business and is responsible for defining and driving preseason merchandising and marketing strategy, with a focus on optimizing product and design performance. This role leverages data and insights, deeply understands customer intent and preferences, quickly identifies trends, and determines what products and designs are featured where and why. This role leads pre-season planning and has accountability of in-season execution. Success is defined by proactive planning, analytical rigor, and measurable business impact. This role will support our general fabric consumer, along with wholesale fabric customers.

Pre-season Strategy & Merchandise Planning

  • Lead design and product curation strategy; balancing trends, performance, and customer intent.
  • Create, own, and develop the seasonal merchandising strategy and calendar. Determine when specific styles, collections, themes, and trends need to be surfaced. Align product and design priorities with marketing priorities to meet category plans while maximizing seasonal and consumer demand trends.
  • Define product and design assortment and placement strategy across digital (site and channel feeds) utilizing data and insights from ecom and growth marketing teams.
  • Partner with ecom, growth marketing, and creative to ensure cohesive storytelling from acquisition through onsite experience.
  • Take action on any high touch artist outreach needed; either directly with artists or with support from customer support.
  • Lead marketing strategy and calendar in combination for both customer segments: fabric consumer and wholesale customer. Execute content collection and development as needed to meet category plans.

Product / Design Performance – Analysis & Insights

  • Analyze product and design performance across key KPI’s - customer count, engagement, conversion, AOV, ASP, unit demand, revenue
  • Establish and lead regular product and design performance reviews, elevating insights beyond reporting into strategic action on a monthly and quarterly basis.
  • Develop framework for design lifecycle management (launch, evaluate, scale, optimize, retire).

In-Season Execution and Oversight

  • Execute promotion setup and governance, ensuring accuracy and consistency across systems (contentful, commerce tools, admin, etc)
  • Maintain accountability for product data integrity and taxonomy across systems – both consumer facing and internal facing.
  • Seek accountability for design data integrity and taxonomy – enabling effective filtering, search, and discoverability.
  • Act as an owner- being the central point of connection between merchandising, growth marketing, ecom, creative, customer support and data teams.
  • Provide input on priorities and workload, ensuring efficient focus, time, and execution is prioritized on defined business goals.
  • Ability to win as a team – proactive outreach and support to high value customers as needed.

Success will be measured by evaluating

  • Revenue per product and design growth and trendlines
  • % of assortment driving 50/70% of revenue
  • Trend prediction hit rate - #/% of preseason-identified trends/themes that become top revenue drivers over time.
  • Accuracy of in-season execution, with emphasis on promo setup accuracy and ability to meet cross functional timeline deliverables.
  • Clear and communicated data-backed preseason merchandising and marketing strategies that drive revenue growth
  • Meet customer count and $/customer targets
