Job Overview:
The Elementary School Technology Teacher will provide instruction in a variety of technology-related subjects, helping students develop digital literacy and problem-solving skills. The role will involve teaching students how to use computers, software, and various digital tools safely and effectively. The role also includes establishing safe protocols around the use of technology, rostering students, reporting on data, managing testing platforms, and providing training to staff and students.
Key Responsibilities:
Technology Instruction: Teach students how to use a variety of technology tools, including computers, iPads, and educational software, in a classroom setting.
Curriculum Design: Develop and implement age-appropriate lessons and activities to teach students foundational technology concepts and computational thinking skills, such as typing, internet safety, basic coding, physical computing (circuits and programmable robots) and multimedia production.
Digital Citizenship: Educate students on the responsible and ethical use of technology, including online safety, respecting others' privacy, and understanding digital footprints.
Hands-on Learning: Organize hands-on activities to engage students in learning about hardware, software, and basic programming concepts.
Support Teachers and Staff: Collaborate with other educators to integrate technology into different subjects and assist with technology-related projects or troubleshooting.
Classroom Management: Create and maintain a positive, safe, and productive learning environment for students to explore technology.
Monitoring Student Progress: Assess students' understanding and skills through informal and formal assessments. Track student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly. Provide feedback to caregivers about students' performance in the classroom and in relation to the technology standards.
Stay Updated: Keep up to date with the latest trends in educational technology and incorporate new tools and practices into the curriculum.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Education, Information Technology, or a related field. A teaching credential and specialization in technology education is preferred.
Experience: Previous experience teaching elementary-aged students or in a related educational setting. Familiarity with educational technology tools and platforms is a plus.

SES Technology Coordinator is responsible for technology management and budgeting, policy and procedures, network operations and troubleshooting.
Tech Management and Budgeting:
Oversee operations (computers, network/wifi, cameras, phone systems)
Monitor network infrastructure
Manage asset inventory and evaluate usage, rostering
Budget for replacement cycle
Subscription management
File Erate (currently utilizing Category 2 SLD funding to offset annual wifi subscription costs)
Policy and Procedures:
Review and evaluate existing policies and procedures
Rebuild SES Family Handbook using Google Sites
Upon completion of the Student Privacy and Data Governance course - will develop a project plan to guide principal in next step action items
Network Operations and Troubleshooting:
Establish and monitor management protocols (Google Admin, Jamf, monitor student privacy with regards to edtech apps, cybersecurity practices, device monitoring)
Troubleshoot for all of the above
Manage MCAS operations and administration
Tech Productivity tools support:
Provide support to PowerSchool (PS) users
Support SchoolMessenger website postings
