Job Description
The EMS Logistics Technician is responsible for overseeing, managing, and maintaining all logistical aspects of the emergency medical service operations in Texas. This role ensures that all equipment, medications, and supplies are available, functional, and ready for EMS personnel to provide top-notch patient care in the field.
Primary Requirements
- Manage and monitor inventory of all EMS supplies, equipment, and medications.
- Order and restock supplies in a timely manner to prevent shortages.
- Maintain a well-organized storage system, ensuring items are easily accessible.
- Regularly inspect equipment for functionality, arranging repairs or replacements as needed.
- Work closely with vendors and suppliers, negotiating prices and managing relationships.
- Coordinate with the fleet management team to ensure ambulances and response vehicles are well-stocked and equipped.
- Operate ambulances and other response vehicles as necessary to assist the fleet management team in taking vehicles for maintenance, inspections, etc.
- Maintain records of inventory levels, equipment maintenance schedules, and order histories.
- Stay updated on the latest EMS equipment, tools, and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with state and local regulations regarding EMS supplies and equipment.
- Train EMS personnel on new equipment, its usage, and maintenance.
- Assist in budgeting and financial planning for logistics needs.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent. A degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is a plus.
- Previous experience in EMS, healthcare, or logistics is preferred.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and basic computer applications.
- Knowledge of the equipment and supplies commonly used in emergency medical services.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Valid Texas driver's license.
