Job Title: Inventory Supervisor
Location: South Haven, Michigan

Job Summary:

The Inventory Supervisor is responsible for shipping, receiving, and inventory personnel.   This includes overseeing daily inventory control activities to ensure accurate stock levels, efficient material flow, coordinates cycle counts, resolves discrepancies, supports continuous improvement initiatives and compliance with company procedures. The Inventory Supervisor represents the company professionally, maintains strong knowledge of inventory systems and warehouse processes, and collaborates closely with purchasing, production, and warehouse teams to support operational success.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Monitor inventory levels daily to ensure adequate stock availability for production
  • Supervise Inventory, Shipping and Receiving employees to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with company standards.
  • Lead, train, and support inventory personnel, ensuring proper execution of cycle counts, audits, and material handling procedures.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment activities to support production and customer order fulfillment.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies through root‑cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate item master data, including part numbers, descriptions, units of measure, and costing.
  • Oversee cycle count programs, physical inventories, and reconciliation processes.
  • Collaborate with purchasing, production, warehouse, and customer service teams to support inventory accuracy and material availability.
  • Review inventory reports, analyze trends, and identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Ensure ERP data integrity by verifying transactions, adjustments, and system updates.
  • Identify slow‑moving, obsolete, or excess inventory and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Support supplier performance tracking related to delivery accuracy, lead times, and material quality.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient inventory storage environment.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean, 5S, and workflow optimization.
  • Attendance and dependability are essential job functions; you must report to work on time and accurately complete the daily duties assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in business or engineering or an equivalent combination of experience. Three or more years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or supply chain roles required; supervisory experience preferred. Experience with ERP systems, shipping software, inventory management tools, and Microsoft Excel strongly preferred. Knowledge of inventory control methods, cycle counting, and material flow processes is essential.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as inventory reports, safety rules, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write reports, correspondence, and documentation.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Must be detail orientated and ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. 

  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. 
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

  • Minimal travel will be expected.
