SUMMARY
Schedules and coordinates flow of raw material and paperwork between the Inventory Control and Production departments by performing the following duties, with minimal supervision.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Maintain inventory of raw material needed to complete on-time production.
Compile and maintain digital records such as material inventory, in-process production reports, and material ordering status.
Compile digital stock control records and information such as consumption rate, characteristics of stock on hand, and current market conditions, to determine stock supply and need for replenishment.
Coordinates utilization of inventory in Shultz Steel.
Negotiates and finalizes purchases of raw material.
Includes all phases of mill contact, including coordination of claims and debits.
Assists Sales personnel with material and inventory information, including mill quotes.
Establishes priorities for specific customer orders.
Computes amount of material required to complete job orders.
Responsible for each job from material reservation through the start of final production.
Determines material availability, allocation, traveler writing (including conversion travelers) and process scheduling.
Reviews master production schedules and related information and confers with department supervisors to determine material requirements to identify overdue materials and to track material.
Keeps backorder file in established sequence and releases backorders for issue or shipment as stock becomes available.
Approve for payment all invoices for raw material and freight bills.
Coordinate material through Vacuum Arc Remelt department.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) from a four-year college or university; or two to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
COMPUTER SKILLS
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of all Microsoft Office software with expert skills in Excel to work with formulas and pivot tables. Also have working knowledge of Inventory software and Order processing systems.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and the general company staff.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to create/maintain code and formulas through Excel.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
