Senior Business Analyst/Regulatory Reporting

MUST be local to New York City, Hybrid Schedule 3 days Onsite

Salary up to $185k

No Sponsorship, No Third-Party Resumes

To qualify for this hands-on role you must have experience with U.S. regulatory reporting and a strong track record of delivering critical regulatory reports. Experience with Axiom is required, as it is the firm's standard regulatory reporting platform. You will work closely with the offshore team, so prior experience collaborating with offshore resources is highly preferred. Must be comfortable working in Agile delivery and must have financial firm experience. The role is primarily business analyst-focused, (though hands-on development experience would be a strong plus). Experience with liquidity reporting.

You will be responsible for leading business analysis, change delivery, and platform enablement for the IHC’s regulatory reporting framework. The role ensures that regulatory requirements are accurately interpreted, translated, and implemented within the Axiom regulatory reporting platform, supported by strong controls, data lineage, and governance.

This role acts as the primary bridge between Regulatory interpretation and reporting policy, Finance, Risk, Treasury, and data-producing functions. The emphasis is on requirements clarity, process integrity, data correctness, and sustainable delivery, executed using Agile methodologies in a highly regulated environment.

Responsibilities

Support interpretation of regulatory instructions, FAQs, and supervisory guidance to define report line definitions and calculation logic including dimensional requirements (counterparty, product, currency, maturity, etc.), aggregation, elimination, threshold, and rounding rules.

  • Translate business requirements into clear, testable functional requirements for Axiom implementation.
  • Maintain end to end traceability from Business requirements to functional specifications to Axiom logic to controls to report output.
  • Lead business analysis for regulatory reporting delivered through Axiom, including data sourcing and ingestion requirements, rule logic, adjustments, and calculation frameworks, report structure, hierarchies, and metadata configuration.
  • Define functional specifications for Axiom rules and mappings.
  • Two Direct Reports
  • Drive data consistency across Axiom implementations to reduce manual overlays and EUCs.

Agile Delivery Leadership

Serve as Lead BA / Product Owner/Manager for regulatory reporting initiatives:

  • Define epics, features, and user stories.
  • Write acceptance criteria aligned to regulatory and control expectations.
  • Prioritize backlog based on regulatory deadlines and risk.

Drive Agile ceremonies and outcomes:

  • Print planning, refinement, demos, retrospectives.
  • Dependency and release management across Finance, Risk, and Technology.
  • Balance Agile delivery with regulatory documentation and evidence requirements.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Deep understanding of IHC regulatory reporting frameworks, governance, and controls.
  • Strong grasp of financial consolidation, legal entity reporting, and regulatory data dependencies.
  • Hands-on experience delivering regulatory reporting using a regulatory reporting platform including data ingestion and mapping, rule configuration and calculations, report production and validation.
  • Requirements elicitation, documentation, and stakeholder facilitation.
  • Process modeling, gap analysis, and control design.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in data-intensive environments.
  • Executive-level communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to influence across Finance, Risk, and Technology without direct authority.
