We are looking for a highly motivated individual to support our Event Planners, and help take our rapidly growing catering company to new heights.
Job Responsibilities:
· Primary function is to prepare and distribute catering proposals and cost estimates under the direct supervision of an Event Planner for corporate and private catered events
· Create internal event related documents to ensure all events have the necessary information for a successful event.
· Assist with communication of event logistics, set-up and special needs with internal departments and external vendors for events.
· Create buffet cards and/or menus for events.
· Prepare documents for invoicing after event has concluded.
· Assist and/or potentially lead/manage at off-premise events when necessary.
· Occasional event errands required.
Job Requirements:
· Bachelor's degree in or equivalent trade-off in related professional work experience.
· Must have prior work experience as a service person either in a restaurant or for a catering company
· Superior communication skills (written and verbal); excellent organizational skills; strong math skills and the ability to prioritize work, multitask and be detail-oriented are considered essential.
· Able to function under tight deadlines; strong interpersonal and team skills.
· Ability and willingness to work nights and weekends as required.
· A great personality and polished image.
· Must have knowledge of gourmet foods and terminology.
· Must be able to stand for long periods of time, navigate stairs in private homes/venues and lift/carry 25 to 30 pounds.
· Understanding of internet technology; some technical A/V knowledge and digital photography helpful.
· Computer proficient in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
· Working knowledge of Quickbooks.
· Work within a demanding fast-paced environment with very high standards.
· Must conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times to reflect the high standards of Shully’s.
