Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Monitor residents’ vital signs and health status regularly to ensure their safety and well-being
- Administer medications accurately following prescribed schedules and protocols while maintaining detailed records using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems
- Provide companionship and social engagement to promote mental and emotional health through activities and conversation
- Support residents with dementia or memory care needs by implementing personalized care plans and behavior management techniques
- Assist with meal preparation, feeding, and ensuring proper nutrition for residents in accordance with dietary guidelines
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties such as cleaning resident areas and common spaces
- Support emergency procedures including first aid response when needed and communicate effectively with healthcare professionals or emergency responders
Qualifications
- Prior experience in long-term care, assisted living, nursing home, or home & community care environments is highly preferred
- Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, dementia care, memory care, and working with individuals with disabilities or developmental disabilities
- Certification or experience in first aid, medication administration, vital signs monitoring, or caregiving is advantageous
- Familiarity with EMR systems and basic medical documentation practices
- Ability to assist with ADLs using appropriate techniques and equipment such as Hoyer lifts or other mobility aids
- Strong communication skills to interact empathetically with residents, families, and team members
- Valid driver’s license for transportation duties is a plus but not mandatory
