Maintenance Worker
We are seeking a reliable, hardworking Maintenance Worker to assist with the day-to-day upkeep and operation of our school building and grounds. The ideal candidate is dependable, takes initiative, can work independently and as part of a team, and is comfortable handling a variety of maintenance and physical tasks.
Responsibilities include:
- Perform general building maintenance and minor repairs
- Basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and hardware repairs
- Troubleshoot and address everyday maintenance issues throughout the building
- Move furniture, equipment, deliveries, and supplies as needed
- Set up and break down rooms for school events and programs
- Maintain outdoor areas and assist with seasonal needs, including snow removal
- Inspect the building and identify items requiring repair or attention
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies
- Assist with preventative maintenance of building equipment
- Keep maintenance areas, tools, and supplies organized
- Help ensure the school building remains safe, functional, and presentable for students and staff
Qualifications:
- Previous maintenance, handyman, construction, or facilities experience preferred
- General knowledge of basic building repairs and maintenance
- Ability to use common hand and power tools safely
- Must be able to communicate in both English and Spanish
- Ability to perform physical work, including lifting and moving equipment
- Reliable, responsible, and punctual
- Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
Pay: $40,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
