Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Pharmacist to join our healthcare team. As a Pharmacist, you will be responsible for dispensing medications accurately, providing expert consultation to healthcare professionals and patients, and ensuring the safe and effective use of pharmaceuticals within a dynamic clinical environment. Responsibilities
- Dispense medications accurately in accordance with prescriptions, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards and hospital protocols.
- Provide expert advice on medication selection, dosage, interactions, and side effects to physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments to determine appropriate pharmacological interventions, especially in high-acuity areas such as ICU, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), and trauma centers.
- Manage IV infusions and aseptic techniques for sterile compounding in critical care settings, including Level I Trauma Centers.
- Monitor patient responses to medications, adjusting therapy as needed to optimize outcomes while minimizing adverse effects.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop pain management plans and support acute pain management strategies for trauma or post-operative patients.
- Maintain detailed documentation of medication therapy, patient interactions, and clinical interventions in compliance with hospital policies.
- Stay current with advances in pharmacology, physiology knowledge, medical terminology, and hospital medicine practices to provide the highest level of patient care.
Experience
- Prior pharmacy residency or post-residency experience in hospital settings is required; experience within Level II trauma centers or Level I Trauma Centers is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated clinical pharmacy experience in critical care environments such as ICU or emergency room settings is essential.
- Proven expertise in managed care practices and hospital medicine workflows enhances patient service delivery.
- Experience working with pediatric populations in PICU or pediatric wards is advantageous.
- Strong background in medication administration protocols, acute care procedures, and anatomy knowledge supports effective patient assessment.
- Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to emergency room procedures and acute pain management is necessary.
- A minimum of several years' hospital experience focusing on patient care, medication safety, and interdisciplinary collaboration is expected for qualified candidates.
