Position Overview: The Long-Term Care Sales Representative will be responsible for identifying, prospecting, and closing new business opportunities with jails and DD service providers in southeastern Ohio. This role focuses on building relationships, demonstrating the value of our comprehensive long-term care pharmacy services, and expanding our footprint to better serve vulnerable populations. The ideal candidate is a proactive sales professional with a track record of B2B sales success in healthcare or pharmaceuticals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prospect and generate leads for new accounts among correctional facilities (e.g., county
jails) and DD organizations (e.g., group homes and developmental disability support
services) that require specialized pharmaceutical dispensing, compliance, and delivery
solutions.
- Conduct outreach through cold calls, networking events, facility visits, and targeted
marketing to educate potential clients on our long-term care offerings, including 24/7
emergency support, HIPAA-compliant record management, and customized medication
packaging for safety and efficiency.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers, such as facility
administrators, healthcare directors, and procurement teams, to understand their needs and position Shrivers Pharmacy as their preferred partner.
- Deliver compelling sales presentations, proposals, and demos highlighting our expertise
in serving high-needs populations, cost savings, and seamless integration with existing
workflows.
- Collaborate with our internal pharmacy team to ensure smooth onboarding of new
accounts, including needs assessments and customized service plans.
- Track sales pipeline, maintain CRM records, and report on progress toward quarterly
and annual targets.
- Stay informed on industry trends, regulations (e.g., Ohio Board of Pharmacy guidelines
for long-term care), and competitor activities to refine sales strategies.
- Represent Shrivers Pharmacy at local healthcare conferences, DD advocacy events, and
correctional health forums to enhance visibility and generate referrals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Marketing, or a related field
(Or equivalent experience).
- 2 years of proven B2B sales experience, preferably in pharmaceuticals, long-term care,
medical devices, or healthcare services. Experience selling to jails, correctional
healthcare, or DD/developmental disabilities providers is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of long-term care pharmacy operations, including medication
compliance, prior authorizations, and delivery logistics.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to
adapt presentations to diverse audiences (e.g., clinical staff vs. administrators).
- Proficiency in CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with
healthcare sales software is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for regional travel (Primarily within a
100-mile radius of Zanesville, OH).
- Passion for serving underserved communities, with a flexible mindset to handle high-volume outreach and occasional evenings/weekends for events.
