Job Overview
Shriners Children's Hawaii currently has a Part-Time Environmental Services Technician opening. This position is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients and staff at all times.
This position is part time, non-exempt and benefits eligible. The pay range for this position is $18.00/hour - $19.66/hour. Compensation is determined based on years of experience and departmental equity.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Sweeps, cleans, mops, scrubs and dusts floors.
- Cleans toilets, basins, showers, bathtubs, patient beds and scrubs walls; dusts, cleans and vacuums furniture, fixtures doors and related furnishings by using appropriate cleaning supplies.
- Operates and maintains electric floor machines, snow blowers, industrial vacuums, carpet shampooing equipment and upholstery shampooing equipment.
- Cleans, refinishes and maintains a variety of floor coverings.
- Cleans patient rooms, beds, waiting areas and examination tables.
- Labels and removes infectious waste bags and containers.
- Transports custodial supplies and equipment to and from storage and work areas.
- Replaces sharp containers, transports trash and refuse, removes empty boxes and organizes closets
Qualifications
- Requires one-year housekeeping/custodian experience (hospital housekeeping/custodian experience preferred), ability to perform detailed tasks, and lift up to 35 pounds without assistance.
- Knowledge of chemical guidelines in Hazards Communication Program
- Knowledge of infection control guidelines for housekeeping procedures
- Training in institutional housekeeping methods.
