Posted: September 8, 2026 Closed: Open until filled Employment Opportunity: Oak Middle School POSITION: Stipend Opportunity: Costume Design – Middle School (5-8) Musical 2026-2027 School Year Shrewsbury Public Schools is currently accepting applications for a Costume Designer for the Middle School (5-8) Musical. This position pays a stipend of $698, which is received after the performance(s) are completed. We are interested in candidates who are invested in the achievement, equity, and access of all learners in and beyond the classroom. Candidates with diverse racial, cultural, religious, class, and/or gender background and experiences are strongly encouraged to apply. Responsibilities Include: •Create a general costume design and specific costume plot •Communicate expectations on what costumes should look like and what needs to be supplied to parents and students •Shop, pull, rent, and/or borrow all required costume pieces •Label, alter, mend, and fit all pieces •Oversee proper use and care of all costume pieces •Create and maintain costume racks •Maintain costumes throughout rehearsal and performance •Transport costumes between buildings •Clean, launder, dry clean, return, and store all costume items used during the production Application Process: Interested candidates please send an email expressing your interest and detailing your experience.
