About Shredder:
Shredder has grown to over fifty thousand users in three months and is the most viral startup in the skiing and snowboarding space. We help riders track their stats, meet people at their level, and stay fully connected to mountain culture. We ship fast, learn fast, and build directly with our community.
About the role:
This is a full time, in person, high output engineering role. We are setting up a hacker house in Truckee for a minimum of six months where you will live and build with the founders. The house has dedicated space to sleep, work, and grind. We will also take work trips around the world to stay creative and keep momentum high. After the hacker house phase, the position will shift into a hybrid structure, with in person collaboration still being a core part of how we operate. This role requires full commitment. No part time work for other companies.
About you:
You are a senior engineer who can move quickly and build clean systems that scale. You have shipped real projects before and you know how to own a mobile stack end to end. You must be strong with React Native. You must be strong with Convex. You want ownership. You want to build with a lean team that moves fast. And yes, you must ski or snowboard. We test features on the mountain and you need to be part of that culture.
What the role involves:
- Lead all mobile development across iOS and Android using React Native
- Build and scale backend logic using Convex
- Own full architecture, performance, and feature development
- Ship updates fast, keep crashes low, and maintain reliability
- Collaborate daily with product and design to iterate nonstop
- Integrate closely with backend engineering on real time features
- Uphold strong technical standards and guide junior engineers
- Join the team for on mountain testing sessions and shape core rider experiences
What we are looking for:
- Professional mobile engineering experience
- Strong experience with React Native and Convex
- Experience building and shipping full products end to end
- Strong understanding of mobile architecture and performance optimization
- Experience shipping to the App Store or Google Play
- Bonus experience with real time systems, social features, or geo location tools
- Must ski or snowboard
- Must be willing to live in Truckee for six months and travel with the team
- Must be fully committed to Shredder with no part time work elsewhere
Compensation:
We offer a base salary of one hundred thousand per year plus equity options in Shredder. We recently raised a round and plan to raise another. We cover moving and relocation costs. If you prefer your own place outside of the hacker house, we can provide an eight hundred dollar monthly rent credit. You will receive a daily Uber Eats credit and a ski pass for the season. This role comes with full ownership, real equity upside, and the chance to help build something meaningful from the earliest stage.
