SHR Talent is partnering with a client in Nashville, TN in its search for a motivated and analytical accounting professional to join our client’s team in a key contributor role as a Staff Accountant. The Staff Accountant will report to the Senior Accountants and will be responsible for performing the accounting functions for the company and providing monthly operating information. Responsibilities:
- Partner with team members to ensure accurate accounting practices, including revenue tracking and compliance with reporting standards
- Play a key role in managing the monthly financial close and associated processes
- Work closely with Financial Planning & Analysis to develop and deliver meaningful financial reports and operational insights
- Maintain financial integrity by ensuring adherence to U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) standards
- Contribute to internal and external reporting initiatives with timely and thorough analysis
- Support external audit activities through coordination and documentation
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and assist in consolidation processes
- Help establish and refine accounting policies and internal procedures
- Tackle complex accounting questions by researching and preparing position memos
- Drive efficiency by identifying and implementing process enhancements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- Master’s degree, preferred
- 1 – 4 years of relevant accounting experience
- Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with large Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, a plus
- Prior exposure to the healthcare industry, helpful but not required
