Controller

SHR Talent is partnering with a fast-growing, multi-unit organization who is seeking a Controller to lead all accounting and financial operations. As the Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities, including month-end close, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash management. The Controller will play a key role in building scalable accounting processes, improving financial accuracy, and supporting leadership through data-driven insights.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage all day-to-day accounting operations
• Oversee month-end close, general ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, bank reconciliations, and cash flow oversight
• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Build and optimize accounting processes, systems, and internal controls
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
• Provide financial analysis to support operational and strategic decision-making
• Partner with leadership on performance metrics and unit-level profitability
• Support annual audits, tax filings, and compliance requirements
• Implement financial best practices for multi-unit or restaurant operations
• Assist in building an internal accounting team as the organization scales

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, preferred
• 5 years of accounting experience
• Multi-unit, restaurant, or hospitality experience, strongly preferred
• Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), financial reporting, and internal controls
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
