Quality Assurance and Food Safety Technician

Position Summary:

Monitors compliance with quality standards on the production floor, shipping, and receiving to ensure product

conforms to specification and food safety practices.

Essential Job Functions:

• Authority to stop production if quality standards aren't met, hazards, or safety issues are present violations are present.
• Monitors production to ensure all documentation is available and completed (Work orders,

Factory tickets, Production documentation)

• Monitors production for compliance with customer requirements; coding, palletizing, and shrink wrap etc.
• Monitors packaging to ensure correct labeling, date coding, and correct packaging is being used

followed.

• Places questionable products on hold, discarding bad products or stopping the production line to correct or prevent product quality issues.
• Monitors production processing and assists operators during production to improve product quality & consistency.
• Signs off on the first article and authorizes production to start
• Provides individual or group training to production employees on product specifications,

production controls, visual quality inspection criteria, GMP, and Food Safety procedures.

• Verify production paperwork and perform QA Verification checks
• Monitors the recording of lot numbers to ensure no expired or soon-to-expire products are being used.
• Performs Line clearance inspection and authorizes production to start
• Monitors production and warehouse for safety violations and reports findings to management
• Identifies hazards and takes appropriate action to remove or reduce hazards
• Monitors housekeeping of the warehouse
