Systems Engineering Technician

Location: Harrisburg, South Dakota - just minutes from Sioux Falls. 
Job Type: Full-Time | On-Site

We’re looking for a detail-oriented and tech-savvy Systems Engineering Technician to help us streamline and enhance our manufacturing processes. In this role, you’ll work with 2020 Insight and 2020 Construct to accurately enter, price, and invoice orders—ensuring smooth product data flow to our production team. You’ll also play a key role in designing, programming, and maintaining automated systems that power our robotic equipment, including MES, RFID, and other data-driven technologies.

What You’ll Do

• Configure and maintain automation equipment, including PLCs, robotic systems, and other automated machinery.

• Collaborate with engineering on upgrades, modifications, and process improvements.

• Assist in the design and implementation of new automated systems.

• Maintain detailed records of system configurations, updates, and maintenance activities.

• Train production team members on the safe operation and basic troubleshooting of automation systems.

• Stay current with industry trends and advancements in automation technology.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Tools & Technology

• Software: MS Excel, AutoCAD, PLC Programming, 2020 Insight, 2020 Construct

• Tools/Equipment: Computers, testing meters, and technical tools

Working Hours

• Monday–Thursday: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM

• Friday: 7:00 AM - 11:30 AM

• Occasional overtime: Additional hours may be required periodically based on business and production needs.

What We’re Looking For

• Education/Experience: Associate’s degree in Automation or related field, or 0–3 years of automation/controls experience

• Technical Skills: PLC programming, AutoCAD, MS Excel

• Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and communication skills
