Position Summary
The Manufacturing Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of manufacturing operations, with a thorough understanding of the full product lifecycle— from raw materials to finished goods ready for shipment. This role interacts daily with all levels of the organization, from production employees to senior leadership.
Manufacturing Managers ensure a safe work environment while delivering quality products and meeting daily production schedules. Key responsibilities include direct supervision of department supervisors, leading process improvement initiatives, managing staffing levels, controlling Hours Per Unit (HPU) and direct labor costs, and promoting open communication across all Showplace departments.
Essential Functions

Manage, coach, and mentor department supervisors.

Achieve manufacturing results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising performance; and taking corrective action in a timely manner in accordance with company policy.

Manage workflow and staffing resources by monitoring processes, setting process variables, observing control points, and overseeing key equipment.

Develop and maintain reporting procedures and systems to manage direct labor, control costs, and maximize profitability.

Foster a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.

Play a key role in setting the production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; ensuring work is completed accurately and on time; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; adjusting schedules as needed; resolving issues; and reporting results.

Ensure proper operation of equipment and facilities by coordinating repairs, evaluating new equipment and techniques, and maintaining effective preventive maintenance programs.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives by eliminating non-value-added activities in the manufacturing process.

Monitor production standards and implement quality control programs to continuously reduce process and product variation.

Ensure training programs are in place across all departments to support employee development, cross-training, growth, and safety.

Oversee personnel recordkeeping, including performance reviews, payroll records, and required training documentation.

Communicate company policies and procedures to employees.

Maintain understanding of OSHA regulations and, where applicable, proper procedures for handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

High School diploma required; some post-secondary education preferred. Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.

Minimum of 7–10 years of experience in cabinet manufacturing or a related field required.

Demonstrated leadership ability to lead teams and achieve results through others.

Experience with employee supervision, including hiring, retention, performance management, and corrective action.

Ability to balance and achieve positive outcomes in safety, quality, productivity, waste reduction, and employee relations.

Strong continuous improvement mindset.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Proven ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Working Hours

Monday–Thursday: 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Friday: 7:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. (or until production is complete)
