What are the responsibilities and job description for the Print Production & Finishing Lead position at Shout!?
At SHOUT, we don’t just print; we build experiences. We are looking for a Print Production Specialist who views a sheet of ACM or a slab of acrylic as a canvas waiting for precision. This isn’t a "press a button and walk away" job. We need a technical artist who speaks fluent Caldera, commands EFI flatbeds, and dances with Colex routers.
If you are the person who notices a 1mm deviation from across the room and knows exactly how to recalibrate a vacuum bed by feel, you belong at SHOUT.
What You’ll Do (The Craft)
- Harness the power of Caldera RIP to manage complex workflows, ensuring color profiles are hitting the mark every single time.
- Own the floor by operating and maintaining EFI UV Flatbeds and Colex Routers. You’ll be the master of the "Cut & Print," turning raw substrates into high-end finishes.
- Work across a massive spectrum of materials—Sintra, Palight, Wood, Metals, and Acrylic. You’ll recommend the best substrates for "impossible" projects and pivot gracefully when supply chains get tricky.
- Keep the "fleet" in peak condition. From router bit inventory to hardware troubleshooting, you ensure our tools are as sharp as your skills.
- Partner with Prepress and Admin to ensure that what was dreamed up on a screen is flawlessly executed on the floor.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- You bring 3–5 years of proven expertise in CNC finishing and large format production.
- With a natural mechanical aptitude, you don't just operate machines—you seek to understand their inner workings and resolve issues at the source.
- You are a master of color management, calibration, and linearization, always refusing to settle for anything less than perfection.
- You excel at balancing urgent event-based graphics with high-volume production runs with total composure.
- Background in vinyl finishing, cold lamination, or on-site event production will make you stand out from the competition.
Technical Competencies
- High-level proficiency with Caldera RIP software is essential.
- Expert-level operation of Colex routers and EFI/AFI flatbed printers.
- Comprehensive understanding of UV ink systems and various substrates, including ACM, PVC, and Foam board.
- Capability to handle heavy substrates and maintain high energy in a rapid-fire production environment.
