Job Description:
As a Medical Assistant, you will be responsible for providing clinical support in a busy family medicine office. The ideal candidate will have experience working in family medicine and be comfortable assisting with a variety of clinical and administrative tasks to ensure smooth daily operations.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with patient intake, including taking medical histories, measuring vital signs, and preparing patients for exams.
- Administer immunizations and injections as directed by the physician.
- Perform routine lab tests and handle patient samples.
- Document patient information accurately in electronic health records (EHR).
- Prepare and maintain medical exam rooms.
- Assist providers during patient exams and procedures.
- Provide patient education and answer basic medical questions.
- Schedule patient appointments and manage patient flow.
- Manage and order medical supplies as needed.
- Handle administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant in a family medicine or primary care setting.
- Certification in Medical Assisting (CMA, RMA, or similar) preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, office procedures, and EHR systems. Cerner experience is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- BLS/CPR certification required.
