What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant position at Shoreline Wellness Center & Behavioral Health Clinic?
The primary function of the Medical Assistant is to assist Shoreline Wellness Center and Shoreline Wellness Behavioral Health Clinic Medical staff (APRN/MD) in coordinating client care. The Medical Assistant will facilitate the coordination of client mental health medication management treatment with the interdisciplinary team and provide support to the administrative staff.
Job Duties:
- Schedule, reschedule, and cancel client appointments.
- Triage telephone calls from new, existing, and former clients, as well as providers and community organizations
- Monitor APRN/MD caseloads and availability
- Review and fax the requested medical records
- Check voicemail boxes and follow up with clients, providers, etc.
- Promote administrative policies to ensure the quality of care
- Assist with refill requests and medication authorizations
- Demonstrate excellent customer service in all interactions
- Take the client vitals signs
- Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
- Proficiency in using computers and programs, including Google Suite, Microsoft Suite, and Electronic Health Records (EHR) system
- Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of HIPAA and Mandated Reporter clauses
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Clinical skills preferred

Job Type: This is a part-time position (25 hours per week) with the potential to become full-time. Evenings Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday until 8 PM are a must.
