Shoreline Tax Solutions LLC is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Tax Associate to join our practice for the upcoming 2026 tax season and beyond. We are a local small business serving primarily individuals and small businesses with a strong emphasis on annual tax planning, preparation, and personalized advisory services.
This is a full-time seasonal employment opportunity with potential for growth to a year-round position. The ideal candidate should be able to work independently and have the ability to prioritize tasks. Excellent time management skills are essential.
Your primary focus will be preparing a variety of tax returns, including personal, self-employed, trust, and business returns (S-Corp, C-Corp, and Partnerships). Your role is key to ensuring clients stay compliant, informed, and financially well-positioned.
What We Do
· Guide clients through the tax preparation process and communicate key deadlines and requirements
· Collect and organize financial records and tax forms
· Input data into tax software and internal databases
· Apply federal, state, and local tax laws to determine deductions and calculate tax liabilities or refunds
· File tax documents with appropriate agencies, including the IRS and state/local entities
· Represent clients in communications with tax authorities as needed
· Provide strategic tax planning advice
· Build and maintain strong client relationships to support business growth
Responsibilities
· Review prior-year tax returns and current-year documentation to prepare accurate filings
· Communicate with clients via phone, email, and in person to schedule appointments, gather information, and discuss tax matters
· Research tax laws, precedents, and updates to ensure compliance and optimization
· Prioritize tasks based on filing deadlines and workflow demands, keeping the owner informed of progress
· Draft marketing and administrative communications
· Maintain and update the client relationship management (CRM) system with relevant notes and status updates
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree (or currently pursuing) in Finance, Accounting, Taxation, or a related field-preferred
· Strong client service mindset and relationship management skills
· Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
· Highly organized, detail-oriented, and resourceful
· Strong technical aptitude and excellent written and verbal communication skills

Base Pay: $20.00 - $50.00 per hour
