Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Charge Nurse to join our healthcare team. The Charge Nurse will be responsible for overseeing nursing staff, ensuring high-quality patient care, and coordinating patient treatment plans. Responsibilities
- Supervise nursing staff and coordinate patient care activities.
- Conduct patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards, including HIPAA.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding health conditions and treatment options.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation and records in EMR/EHR systems.
- Manage emergency situations effectively while providing critical care as needed.
- Train and mentor new nursing staff on protocols and procedures.
Qualifications
- Current nursing license in good standing.
- Critical care experience preferred; familiarity with ICU or ER settings is a plus.
- Experience with Epic or Cerner EMR systems is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of ICD-9/ICD-10 coding for accurate medical documentation.
- Previous experience in long-term care, assisted living, or home care settings is beneficial.
- Proficiency in IV infusion techniques, medication administration, and patient assessment skills.
- Strong understanding of geriatrics, dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, and hospice care practices.
- Ability to work with individuals with developmental disabilities or complex medical needs.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
