We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Administrative Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. This dual-role position combines front desk administrative duties with clinical medical assisting responsibilities, ensuring a seamless and positive experience for our patients. Key Responsibilities Front Desk & Administrative Duties
- Greet patients warmly, check them in for appointments, and verify personal and insurance information.
- Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and manage patient inquiries with professionalism and care.
- Maintain patient records and ensure all forms and documents are up-to-date and accurate.
- Process patient referrals.
- Manage office correspondence, including email, mail, and faxes.
- Ensure patient flow is efficient by managing appointments and coordinating with clinical staff.
- Assist with medical office inventory, restocking supplies, and managing equipment.
- Perform general office duties such as filing, faxing, and organizing medical records.
Medical Assistant Duties
- Prepare patients for exams by taking vital signs as needed (e.g., blood pressure, temperature, pulse), documenting in the patient's Electronic Health Record (EHR), and performing basic diagnostic tests, including pulmonary function tests.
- Assist physicians with patient examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized clinical environment, following infection control protocols.
- Provide patients with educational information related to treatment plans, procedures, and medications.
- Update patient records in the EHR system, ensuring accurate documentation of medical procedures, tests, and follow-ups.
- Coordinate follow-up care, including scheduling additional appointments or tests as needed.
- Adhere to privacy laws and confidentiality standards (HIPAA compliance).
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Proficient in using EHR systems and medical office software.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, office procedures, and patient care.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a patient-centered approach.
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and confidentiality.
- Office hours are Monday - Thursday 8:00 am - 6:00pm
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds, stand for extended periods, and perform tasks that require dexterity
- Must be able to bend, stoop, and move equipment as needed.
