Swim Instructor (Seasonal/Summer) – Shore Swim School

Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Swim Instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in swimming and experience working with children. As a Swim Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching swimming techniques, ensuring the safety of all participants, and fostering a positive learning environment. Your role will involve educating students of various skill levels, from beginners to advanced swimmers, while promoting water safety and confidence in the water.

Responsibilities

• Teach swimming lessons to individuals or groups of varying ages and skill levels.
• Develop personalized lesson plans that cater to the needs and abilities of each student.
• Ensure the safety of all participants by enforcing pool rules and monitoring activities.
• Provide constructive feedback to students to help them improve their swimming techniques.
• Educate students about water safety and the importance of swimming skills.
• Maintain a clean and organized equipment bag, ensuring all equipment is in good condition.
• Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding student progress and any concerns.
• Participate in team meetings and training sessions as required.

Requirements

• Previous experience in swim instruction or related fields such as childcare, sports coaching, or martial arts (e.g., Judo, Karate).
• Strong swimming skills with the ability to demonstrate various techniques.
• Certification in lifeguarding or willingness to obtain certification is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate and motivate students effectively.
• Patience, enthusiasm, and a genuine love for working with children.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
• Background in cheerleading or climbing is a plus but not required.

Job Types: Contract, Seasonal

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 1 – 20 per week
