What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dietary Aide position at Shore Pointe Care Center?
Key Responsibilities
Meal Preparation & Portioning: Assist cooks with basic food preparation, portion food according to prescribed menu and therapeutic diet orders (e.g., low-sodium, pureed, diabetic), and honor resident preferences when possible.
Food Delivery & Serving: Deliver food carts, trays, and snacks to resident rooms or the main dining room. Serve food in the dining room and assist residents with setting up meals (e.g., opening cartons, arranging utensils).
Sanitation & Cleaning: Clean and sanitize workstations, dining tables, counters, kitchen appliances, and food carts. Wash dishes, silverware, and cooking utensils, and properly store them. Sweep, mop, and take out trash.
Safety & Compliance: Follow all infection control, food safety, and OSHA regulations. Monitor and record food temperatures and ensure leftovers are properly labeled, dated, and stored.
Communication: Report any dietary discrepancies, resident complaints, or equipment issues to the dietary supervisor or nursing staff. Interact positively with residents, families, and staff.
