What are the responsibilities and job description for the Retail Clerk position at Shore Medical Center?
Position Summary
The Retail Clerk is responsible for performing the duties required to carry out the functions of Shore Medical Center’s Thrift Shops. Areas of responsibility may include but are not to be limited to; answering phones and taking accurate messages, cashiering, organizing merchandise, providing excellent customer service, sorting donations and scheduling volunteers/auxilians.
Minimum Requirements
- Previous retail experience
- High School Degree or GED; or equivalent experience
- Retail experience
- Organized and outstanding customer service skills
- Works well in a team environment with both paid staff and volunteers
- Knowledge of cash registers, adding machines, fax and copiers
- Computer knowledge required including e-mail, MS Excel and E-Bay sales
- Must be able to stand for extended periods, to move and handle boxes of merchandise and fixtures throughout the store, and empty the donation bin which entails lifting, pushing and pulling.
- Ability to work varied locations and varied hours/days, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Preferred:
- Thrift shop knowledge
Salary Range - $15.91 - $22.50 hourly (Based on experience)
