Shore Haven Veterinary Hospital — East Haven, CT
If you’re the sort of tech who beams when a nervous cat finally unclenches in your arms, or when a client says “Wow, thanks for explaining that in human words!” — you’ll feel right at home at Shore Haven.
We’ve been part of the East Haven community for over 40 years, and judging by the steady stream of glowing reviews, our neighbors kinda like us back. Clients rave about our compassion, clear communication, and how we treat every pet like the VIP they are — yes, even the one who drools on your scrub top like it’s performance art.
Why Techs Stick Around Here
At Shore Haven, techs are trusted teammates, not background characters. You’ll notice pretty quickly that:
- Clients routinely compliment our team’s kindness (and we take that seriously, because kindness is a skill)
- Our culture blends high-quality medicine with real, human warmth
- Our staff retention is strong — people stay because it’s a good place to be, not just to work
- We celebrate curiosity, mentoring, problem-solving, and “aha” moments
- Laughter is part of the workflow — especially when a dog brings emotional support squeaky toys into surgery prep

- Deliver exceptional patient care, from snuggly wellness visits to the occasional “I ate something I shouldn’t have” adventure
- Support veterinarians during exams, treatments, and surgeries
- Handle anesthesia, monitoring, and surgical assistance with confidence
- Guide clients through decisions and treatment plans in plain English
- Document with accuracy and intention — yes, we read your notes!
