Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling accounts, and supporting various accounting functions. Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, and Quicken.
- Perform general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account analysis, and general ledger reconciliation.
- Conduct bank reconciliations and account reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial data.
- Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable processes efficiently.
- Assist with payroll processing and tax-related tasks, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
- Maintain detailed records of all financial transactions following GAAP standards.
- Support budgeting processes by providing accurate financial data for planning purposes.
- Ensure timely completion of month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Collaborate with external auditors during audits and provide necessary documentation.
Requirements
- Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles, preferably within corporate or non-profit sectors.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, and Quicken; familiarity with public accounting practices is a plus.
- Strong understanding of financial concepts including double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, journal entries, and account reconciliation.
- Knowledge of GAAP standards and governmental accounting principles is desirable.
- Ability to perform balance sheet reconciliation, bank reconciliation, and account analysis accurately.
- Experience with payroll processing and tax preparation is preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail; proficiency in 10 key typing is advantageous.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret financial data effectively.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
