The job purpose of a Grocery Night Crew Clerk is to efficiently stock, organize, and merchandise grocery products during overnight hours, ensuring shelves are full and appealing for the next business day, while maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Position available in ShopRite of Liberty.
Stocking & Merchandising: Accurately and efficiently stocking shelves with grocery products (dry goods, canned goods, frozen foods, etc.), ensuring proper rotation (FIFO - First-In, First-Out), and creating visually appealing displays according to planograms and store standards.
Receiving & Backroom Organization: Assisting with unloading new deliveries, breaking down pallets, and organizing stock in the backroom to ensure efficient workflow and easy access for stocking.
Aisle Maintenance: Maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of grocery aisles by removing empty boxes, plastic, and debris, and promptly cleaning up spills.
Product Knowledge & Accuracy: Ensuring products are stocked in their correct locations, verifying pricing, and reporting any discrepancies or damaged merchandise.
Safety & Efficiency: Adhering to all safety procedures for lifting, operating equipment (like pallet jacks), and navigating aisles, while working efficiently to complete stocking tasks within given timeframes.
Teamwork: Collaborating effectively with other night crew members to ensure all tasks are completed before the store opens.
Professional Conduct and Communication: Following management instructions, providing constructive feedback, completing all required training (including on company technologies and equipment), adhering to company policies and health regulations, and operating powered equipment only if trained. Performing all other duties as assigned by management.
Demonstrate basic math and English language proficiency.
Meet physical demands: stand, walk, crouch, bend, stretch, regularly lift 50 lbs., up to 75 lbs., and perform duties that require significant walking, pushing, and pulling of equipment.
Hourly Pay Range: $17.25-$18.25
This position is eligible for vision, dental, life insurance, and legal plan benefits, which become available on a graduated basis over time according to the terms of the collective bargaining agreement (“CBA”). Paid time off (sick time, personal days, vacation days, and holidays) will accrue on a graduated basis over time in accordance with the CBA. Retirement benefits (pension or 401k) become available over time in accordance with the CBA.
