Job Description
Shopify is looking for a driven, detail oriented Senior Complex Deal Desk Analyst to support the largest and most strategic merchants across the platform. In this role, you will analyze complex, non-standard opportunities and structure win-win deals to accelerate cycle velocity & increase Shopify’s win rate. The ideal candidate will be a powerful advocate who partners closely with our global revenue teams in removing internal roadblocks to getting deals done. Working cross functionally across every level of Shopify, the Complex Deal Desk Analyst works to ensure all deals are compliant and meet Shopify’s business goals. As a founding member of the Deal Desk team, you will help develop and implement standard methodologies that create the foundation for a scalable, best-in-class Deal Desk function.
Responsibilities:
- Act as a key business partner to Shopify’s global sales and merchant success organizations in an effort to support the largest, most complex merchants on the platform
- Address complex Deal Desk requests with both quality & urgency setting the bar for excellence in the role
- Expertly juggle and prioritize a variety of asks from competing executive stakeholders
- Develop a strong understanding of Shopify’s internal systems, pricing structures, product offerings, contract flavors, billing capabilities and methodologies
- Act as Shopify’s subject matter expert on complex non-standard deal structures & policies
- Support in creating non-traditional deal structures that make sense for both enterprise customers and Shopify
- Act as liaison through complex approval processes between Sales Leadership, Legal, Finance & Billing
- Review special requests for non-standard business terms for reasonableness and compliance with pricing frameworks and best practices
- Take a leadership role in identifying gaps in process and implement improvements while collaborating cross functionally across a variety of teams
- Leverage data and reporting to improve decision making and implement recommendations in order to increase efficiencies across the team
- Work with the Global Enablement team to create and update training materials as needed in addition to directly presenting enablement material to global sales teams
- Engage directly with sales team to remove internal roadblocks and accelerate the velocity of complex deals
Qualifications
- 6 years of Deal Desk experience in a SaaS or high-tech company, and experience negotiating large, complex deals
- Proven ability as a financial analyst and business partner with a strong understanding of deal structure and sales processes
- A highly detail oriented individual that can deliver creative solutions to non-standard and highly complex deals
- Experience working directly with a sales organization and an understanding of quota related & quarterly pressures
- Strong structured problem-solving skills along with an ability to demonstrate practical judgment in complex situations
- Ability to interact effectively with remote teams globally
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a knack for relationship & consensus building
- A demonstrated ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast paced organization
