Visual Manager
Position Overview: Since opening in 1984, Shoe Sensation has focused on bringing America’s top footwear brands to growing communities in the Midwest and South. Shoe Sensation has achieved success through superior merchandise assortment, and outstanding customer service, within a well-designed and comfortably appointed store environment. Shoe Sensation currently has 210 stores and is growing at a current rate of 10% a year.
The Visual Manager is responsible for creating a cohesive in-store presentation that maximizes sales through merchandise & marketing placement. They will work cross-functionally with the buying, marketing, and new store development teams to ensure that the visual presentation is consistent in both new and existing locations.
In-store Presentation:
- Create seasonal product layouts (Spring & Fall) for footwear and accessories
- Develop Weekly, bi-weekly, monthly planograms for interior & exterior signage/POP placement
- Coordinate with buyers on new product initiatives, placement, and in-store display kits needed for those items
- Develop relationships and communicate with vendors regarding POP & in-store signage opportunities
- Strategic Partner with the procurement team & outside vendors on tabletop fixtures, sign holders, & tag holders
- Coordinate and expedite orders with vendors.
- Follow up to verify store teams receive the instructions and appropriate supplies in a timely manner for implementation
- Initiate store communications for managers to properly schedule staff and resources to perform tasks associated with layout changes.
Signage/POP:
- Responsible for Mapping out signage needs by quarter based on promotional calendar
- Coordinate with the marketing team to finalize signage designs, and determine quantities needed
- Assist the Marketing Manager with overseeing signage budget
- Maintain an accurate list of current signage throughout the company, and send out a quarterly marketing trash list
New Store Development:
- Review new store layouts and capacities to help determine SKU count for allocations team
- Develop and distribute signage orders for specific placement of stores by store planogram assigned
- Create and launch the New store signage/POP/display initiatives
Vendor Relations:
- Work directly with vendors on designs & prototypes for in-store POP/display options
- Coordinate with marketing team/signage vendor on signage inventory & in-store changes/updates
- Review specific KPIs with IWD (planogram software) rep in order to utilize the program to its full potential
Qualifications
- 4-year college degree Retail Merchandising or similar
- 3-5 years of relevant experience.
- Detail oriented with high level of accuracy.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to effectively influence and negotiate
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Ability to work independently with strong time management skills.
- Proficient in Excel and Microsoft suite and Adobe
- Knowledgeable in IWD Planogram software, a plus
- Effective communication skills
- Basic knowledge with computers and other technology.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Ability to multi-task, set priorities and manage time effectively, in a fast-paced environment
