We're looking for a Tax Accountant to join our Finance team at our Fort Mill, SC headquarters — someone who takes ownership of complex compliance responsibilities and brings both precision and a continuous-improvement mindset to everything they do.
What You'll Do
- Own direct and indirect tax compliance functions, including income, property, and sales & use taxes
- Maintain monthly accounting reconciliations for assigned general ledger accounts with tax activity
- Support budgeting and forecasting efforts, with primary responsibility for select expense items
- Prepare periodic compliance filings and partner with third-party consultants on state and local filings, including personal property tax returns and annual reports
- Proactively identify process improvement opportunities across policies, procedures, and software
- Assist in responding to taxing authority audits and inquiries
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field (required)
- Active CPA license or currently pursuing CPA designation
- Relevant experience through full-time employment and/or internships in tax or accounting
- A detail-oriented, self-starter mentality with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines without missing a beat
- Strong interpersonal skills — you build positive relationships with colleagues, consultants, and taxing authorities alike
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office with advanced Excel skills (required)
- Experience with Great Plains, LicenseHQ, and/or PTMS is a plus
