Summary:
This Director of Finance will serve as a Finance leader responsible for administering the corporate financial forecasting and budgeting process. In addition to leading the financial forecasting and budgeting process, core responsibilities of this role will include managing the process for making strategic corporate investments, internal analysis, evaluating project-related returns on investment, strategy, allocation, and metrics tracking and performing revenue optimization analysis.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the Finance Leader of the strategic planning team consisting of team members specializing in financial, production, material, and revenue planning functions
- Manage process for making strategic corporate decisions, refine and maintain a robust financial forecasting process with strong connectivity to Shoal’s corporate planning functions
- Build, execute and communicate the vision for the strategic planning group to executive leadership and stakeholders
- Direct and oversee the organization’s short and long-range goal planning function
- Research and create modeling and meaningful data visualizations that predict future business performance, planning and trends
- Lead efforts to analyze past performance, assess future conditions, and provide actionable insights to improve performance
- Develop strong working relationships with Finance Business Partners to ensure consistency in Business / Functional level reviews of performance
- Identify and communicate areas for opportunity, growth, and risk
- Create and manage strategic models for financial budgets, KPIs, and annual operating plans
- Drive strategic initiatives and support the development of long-term growth plans and profitability goals
- Leverage analytical solutions as a team leader to forecast demand and supply over a multi-year horizon
- Lead the monitoring and scheduling of the flow of products through the complete production cycle
- Leverage abilities of Salesforce software as a key contributor to in forecasting revenue and future growth
- Establish KPIs and metrics to monitor and assess effectiveness of planning team
- Responsible for coaching, performance management, and career development of the team
- Build and present executive business analytical presentations - Manage process for synthesizing complex financial information into communication materials that are geared to the appropriate audience (Board, Executive, Team)
- Drive the development of improved business processes, tools, and analytics to support planning and activities
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or other related field required with advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in FP&A or finance required
- Minimum 10 years’ experience with exposure to production, material planning, or supply chain planning is preferred
- Minimum 3 years of experience at the Director level is preferred
- Minimum 5 years of leadership experience is preferred
- Proven ability to leverage artificial intelligence and advanced analytics to drive operational efficiencies, enhance decision-making, and optimize financial systems and manufacturing processes
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) applications with emphasis on high proficiency using MS Excel and SQL required
- Experience working as key decision maker in a public company a plus
- Experience using BI tools and applications a plus
- Experience with Salesforce a plus
- Self-motivated and self-directed, with a high sense of urgency
