Summary:
The Accounting Generalist supports day-to-day accounting operations across multiple functional areas, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll support, and month-end close. This role requires a well-rounded accounting professional with strong attention to detail, solid organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
General Accounting
- Perform general ledger postings, journal entries, and account reconciliations
- Assist with month-end and year-end close activities
- Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with company policies and GAAP
- Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and schedules
Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Enter and maintain accurate financial data in accounting systems
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
- Prepare customer invoices and apply cash receipts
- Perform bank reconciliations and assist with other balance sheet reconciliations
- Provide administrative support for Navan and Capital One, including user administration, account maintenance, and basic troubleshooting
- Monitor aging reports and assist with collections efforts
Payroll & Expense Support
- Assist with payroll processing and payroll-related reconciliations
- Review and process employee expense reimbursements
- Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulations
Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare standard financial reports and schedules
- Assist with budget tracking and variance analysis
- Support ad hoc financial analysis as requested
Process Improvement & Compliance
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and controls
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and accounting standards
- Maintain confidentiality of financial and employee information
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred
- 5-7 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or clerical role preferred
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
- Experience in a multi-entity or manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with payroll systems and tax reporting
- Experience with month-end close processes
- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
